Course Description

This conference will explore the use of point-of-care information technology,explaining how existing practices shape the development of these tools,identifying methods to measure their impact and investigating the impact these tools will have on future generations of clinicians.

Course Objectives

This conference will explore the use of point-of-care information technology, explaining how existing practices shape the development of these tools, identifying methods to measure their impact and investigating the impact these tools will have on future generations of clinicians.

Following this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Identify impact of health information technology in clinical medicine at the point-of-care
  • Evaluate trends within patient care, technology and research that may translate to new applications and knowledge at the clinical point-of-care
  • Review recent research and research methods relevant to the clinical point-of-care
  • Investigate budgetary constraints, incentives
